AI Landscape

Many people get lost in the daily storm of AI news. That’s why I have been working on an “AI Landscape” Mindmap. It’s work in progress, feel free to comment and/or work together on it!
Note that you can also download it and open with XMind.

100 most promising AI startups

Then there is the AI tooling part, it seems like every day a new AI product pops up. And actually there is 🙂
This CBInsights report shows the “top 100 most promising AI tools/companies”. I don’t fully agree with their view, but the best I did found till now.
About CBInsights: their mission is “to enable every organization to make smarter decisions about tech”.

An extract of some relevant items in this top 100:

  • Vector database search: Langchain is actually no vector database, but this LLM framework enables the use of vector databases, like Pinecone
  • Foundation (LLM) models: OpenAI and Hugging Face are mentioned, but there are lots of other relevant models out there, see Chathub to test some of them
  • Synthetic voice: Elevenlabs is doing really nice things in this area indeed
  • Image creation: Midjourney, let’s not forget Dall-E or Stable diffusion
  • Search: Perplexity.ai and You.com for sure deserve their place in this top 100
  • Media and entertainment: Character.ai talking to a (predefined) character is fun indeed
  • ML development: Mosaic “enables you to easily train and deploy large AI models on your data, in your secure environment”
  • Legal: Harvey.ai was all over the news, it creates a natural language interface for lawyers, raised $5 million funding from the OpenAI Startup Fund and other investors
