Microsoft Viva is an integrated employee experience platform built within Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Teams that gives you the ability to support connection, insight, purpose, and growth in your organization using your existing infrastructure. It was launched in February 2021.

Microsoft Viva is built with next-generation AI and insights to continuously improve employee engagement and business performance.

Here are the different components of the Microsoft Viva suite:

• Viva Amplify: enhances organizational communication by centralizing processes, offering writing guidance, enabling multi-channel publishing, and providing campaign metrics for improved planning.
• Viva Engage: brings people together across the organization to connect with leaders, coworkers, and communities. It can also help people crowdsource answers and ideas, share their work and experience, and find belonging at work.
• Viva Insights: improves employee productivity and well-being through data-driven insights and recommendations. It empowers leaders and managers to seek and act on feedback when it matters.
• Viva Pulse: Using research-backed templates, teams can quickly share their experience and suggestions, and reporting helps managers pinpoint what’s working well and which areas to focus on over time.
• Viva Glint: helps organizations understand and improve employee engagement with org-wide surveys and recommended actions to drive business outcomes. It is also a “voice of the employee” solution based on people science to guide employee listening and engagement programs that support the employee experience.
• Viva Learning: Brings enterprise learnings into the flow of work by connecting content from the organization, Learning Management Systems, third-party providers, and Microsoft.
• Viva Goals: This app is a goal alignment solution that uses the objectives and key results (OKR) framework to connect teams to your organization’s strategic priorities, unite them around your mission and purpose, and drive business results .

Microsoft has recently introduced a new AI-powered service called Skills in Viva that helps organizations understand workforce skills and gaps, and deliver personalized skills-based experiences throughout Microsoft 365 and Viva applications for employees, business leaders, and HR . This service leverages AI reasoning on top of the Microsoft Graph and LinkedIn Skills Graph to intelligently infer an employee’s skills profile.
