Microsoft has rolled out an early preview of Bing Chat plugins, aiming to enhance the chat experience by integrating (ChatGPT alike) third-party functionalities.

Initially available only on Microsoft Edge, these plugins promise to make Bing Chat more versatile and user-friendly.

Key Highlights:

  • Early Access: Microsoft has granted early access to Bing Chat plugins, but only for Microsoft Edge users.
  • Delayed Rollout: Initially announced in May, the feature’s rollout was delayed due to infrastructure upgrades.
  • Limited Availability: Currently, only five plugins are available—Instacart, Kayak, Klarna, OpenTable, and Shop.
  • Three plugins: Users can enable up to three plugins at a time.
  • Performance Concerns: Initial tests indicate that the plugins are slow to respond but are expected to improve.

The Five Initial Plugins:

  1. Instacart: Helps you discover recipes and ingredients.
  2. Kayak: Assists in planning travel, including flights and rentals.
  3. Klarna (U.S. Only): Compares online shopping deals.
  4. OpenTable: Makes restaurant reservations based on your preferences.
  5. Shop: Searches for products globally.
